ABM III-IA                                                Arthur Schopenhauer
My philosopher is Arthur Schopenhauer and he is a typical philosopher, he's philosophy was all about Aesthetics, Pessimism his professor was Gottlob Ernst suggested to concentrate on Plato and Kant. some of example of his quotes. "Satisfaction consists in freedom from pain, which is the positive element of life", "A man can do what he wants, but not want what he want", "If we were not also interested in ourselves, life would be so uninteresting that none of us would be able to endure it".

Schopenhauer was born in February 1788 in Danzig(modern day Gdansk, Poland). His father was Heinrich Floris Schopenhauer, a successful merchant; his mother was  talented author Johanna Trosiener; both descendants of wealthy German families, When Danzig annexed by Prussia in 1793.the family moved Hamburg. Schopenhauer travelled widely with his father as a youth, living periods in both France and England. In 1805, when he was 17, his father died (possibly a suicide), and Schopenhauer took over the family business in Hamburg for a time, making him a rich man overnight. His mother, however, moved to Weimar, then centre of German literature, to pursue her writing career. Schopenhauer himself, although on the short side, was tolerably good looking and attractive to women, but was never comfortable in romantic endeavors. He entered the University of  Gottingen in 1809 to study Metaphysics and Psychology under Gottlob Ernst Schulze (1761-1833). who advised him to concentrate on Plato and Kant. In 1821, he fell in love with a 19 year old opera singer. Caroline Richter (known as "Medon"). and had a relationship with her several years (including an illegitimate child, although the child died the same year). Despite Caroline's urging, though, he never planned to marry, In 1831, at the age of 43 he again took interest in a younger woman, the 17 year old Flora Weiss, who roundly rejected him. After the outbreak of a cholera epidemic in Berlin 1831, both Schopenhauer and Hegel moved away. Hegel returned prematurely to Berlin, caught the infection, and died, but Schopenhauer settled permanently in Frankfurt in 1833. He there for the next twenty seven years until his death.

Arthur Schopenhauer has been dubbed artist's philosopher on account of the inspiration his aesthetics has provided to artist of all stripes. He is also known as philosopher of pessimism, as he articulated a worldview that challenges the value existence, His elegant muscular prose earn him a reputation as one the greatest German stylists. Schopenhauer was very an a much typically philosopher. He was genuinely interested and knowledgeable about Hinduism and Buddhism, and the only major Western philosopher to draw serious parallels between Western and Eastern philosophy. He was the first major philosopher to be openly atheist, and was unusual in placing the arts and Aesthetics so highly. He is also considered among the supreme writers of German prose. and his elegant and aphoristic writing style has even led to the publication of standalone books of aphorisms and witticisms. He is best known for his 1818 work The World as Will and Representation ( expanded in 1844), wherein he characterizes the "Phenomenal" world as the product of a blind insatiable "Metaphysics Will" proceeding from the "Transcendental Idealism".

Based of my understanding on his philosophy, I learned, I agree about his idea because more in about a study of existence and base on individual person's experiences, his famous work, the "The World as Will and Representation", this work is all about the desire, striving, wanting, and urging. is all about when you want something you want it right away and no one can stop what you want to get whether in a difficult way or easy way as long as you want something you need to get even if you hurt someone else and you being selfish because you don't think about other people if you hurt them as long as you get what you want. And for my conclusion Arthur Schopenhauer he wrote this book because base on his own experiences and point of view about, because base on his observation it about a reality because people they become a selfish because they want to get something and they don't listening to other because they want to get that things which is wrong you don't need to become a close minded you need to listen what they want to share something about your mistakes and they give some advice and if you a close minded you listening to yourself and your looking to yourself is a head of everyone because on your abilities which is wrong because you need to became a open minded to correct you mistakes or you need some advice and that what Arthur Schopenhauer want to know about The World as Will and Representation.
